The United Nations has urged Israel to immediately stop plans to expand illegal settlements in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights.
The United Nations has demanded that Israel immediately halt its plans to expand settlements in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights. UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric told journalists on Tuesday that the plans for expanding Israeli settlements in the occupied Golan should be stopped.
According to Israeli media, on April 16 Israel approved a five-year plan under which $334 million will be spent to promote illegal settlements in the occupied Golan. Under this plan, which will run from 2026 to 2030, approximately one billion shekels have been allocated with the aim of strengthening infrastructure and increasing the Israeli population in the area.
