Despite differences, Britain,United States will always remain strong allies۔Prince Charles
King Charles III of the United Kingdom, while addressing the US Congress, said that despite uncertainty and conflicts in Europe and the Middle East, Britain and the United States will always remain strong allies in the defense of democracy.
According to the news agency Reuters, the King said in a joint session of the Senate and the House of Representatives that despite differences, both countries are united for the protection of their people and the promotion of democratic values. Queen Camilla was also present with him on this occasion.
During the speech, King Charles indirectly referred to Donald Trump’s criticism of NATO, the importance of US support in the Ukraine war, and the dangers of isolationism. He said that defending Ukraine requires the same determination that was shown in the past against common threats.
Later, during a dinner at the White House, President Trump, while talking about Iran’s nuclear weapons, claimed that King Charles also agrees with this position. However, the King did not directly comment on Iran or the ongoing war in his speech.
This speech came at a time when tensions exist in US-UK relations over the issue of war related to Iran, and the US President has been criticizing Prime Minister Keir Starmer for lack of cooperation.
